Your strategy stays yours.

Foothold uses your saved decisions and the context you permit to help with your next question. This is private context for your work, not training a shared model. Other customers cannot use your private record as a source.

Strategies, uploaded documents, outcomes, and derived summaries stay within their access permissions. Your company’s material does not become a cross-company knowledge base. Personal context marked private is not shared with teammates.

Confidentiality does not guarantee exclusive ideas. Others may independently receive similar advice from public knowledge and their own circumstances.

Foothold currently integrates with Anthropic’s commercial API. Relevant text, including selected file contents, is sent to Anthropic to generate your response. Your saved decision history is held by Foothold’s storage providers.

Our model-provider policy is limited to Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. OpenAI and Google model integrations are not active here. Adding a provider or changing a model requires a review of the service, account terms, retention, tools, and data-sharing settings before activation. There is no automatic fallback to an unreviewed provider.

No training does not mean no processing or no retention. Providers process readable inputs, and may retain content for service operation, safety, or legal obligations. We do not claim end-to-end encryption against the AI provider or universal zero retention.

Anthropic’s standard commercial retention is generally up to 30 days, with exceptions including policy enforcement and legal requirements. Special arrangements and features can differ. We do not advertise a zero-retention arrangement we have not verified.

Using your own API key would still require an eligible service and the same protections. A key alone does not change a provider’s data handling.

Review the search topic before it leaves Foothold. Web research receives that topic, not your session history, profile, or attached files. Search providers may retain searches under their own terms.

Searches may expand or rephrase the topic you approve. Remove sensitive details from that topic. Opening a source website also connects your browser to that site.

Foothold does not automatically search the public web from your private plan or profile. Generating a brief does not authorize new web searches. It may use research you have already saved.

Invitations and approved Slack excerpts share the material you select. Once sent to Slack, email, another AI app, or another person, it is also subject to that destination’s rules. Disconnecting a tool does not retract copies already delivered.

Foothold uses authenticated access controls and private file storage. The database and file storage are hosted in the EU through Supabase. This does not mean every AI request or service provider operates only in the EU. Connections to Foothold use HTTPS.

Foothold’s operator and authorized infrastructure providers can have administrative access. We restrict use of that access to providing support, maintaining and securing the service, and legal obligations. We do not claim that staff or infrastructure operators are technically unable to access stored content.

New application error reports exclude raw messages, stack traces, and free-form context. Optional product analytics use a limited event vocabulary and exclude strategy text and full page URLs. With your consent, masked session recordings help us understand how the interface is used. Page text, form inputs, and element attributes are masked in your browser before transmission. Embedded media, network bodies, and console logs are excluded. Feedback you deliberately submit is visible to our operator; do not include a confidential strategy in general product feedback.

Your saved content remains until you remove it or your account is deleted, subject to the retention obligations in our privacy policy. Deletion may not immediately remove backup copies or material you already shared. We do not promise instant erasure from every system.

Our terms include confidentiality and restrictions on content reuse. Our privacy policy describes processing and your rights. Contact us about a company confidentiality agreement or data-processing documentation before sharing material that requires a separate agreement.

No service can promise that a breach is impossible. We do not claim an independent security certification or audit for Foothold on this page. A provider’s certification is not a certification of Foothold.
